HAIR CARE TIPS
MAINTAIN T.T. COLLECTION
- PRE-INSTALLATION Always wash your hair extensions prior to installation while leaving the zip-ties intact. This will allow you the opportunity to evaluate the bundles. If you detect any abnormalities kindly contact us immediately and we will resolve them accordingly.
- BI-WEEKLY SHAMPOO IF NOT WEEKLY
Ladies, a hair detangling brush will be your best friend. Invest in one. Always detangle your hair before wetting it using a detangling brush. Just like you would treat your own head of hair, detangle first then wash it! Oils and dirt cause build up which is a no-go with your hair. If you prefer to co-wash (using only conditioner) your hair, still be sure to shampoo it. Co-washing your hair is perfectly fine, but remember you still want to use a clarifying shampoo that will remove any and all debris. If you wash your hair weekly, you can switch in between a regular shampoo and co-washing. - DEEP CONDITION
It is important that you condition your hair, especially with curly. Conditioning helps with detangling, define curl pattern (if any), and adds moisture to the hair (that was stripped away by the clarifying shampoo). You must retain moisture in the hair to prevent it from frizzing or tangling. It also helps with keeping hair soft while maintain moisture. - HOW TO DRY
If your bundles are not yet installed, letting your bundles air dry does wonders for them. We highly recommend.
If bundles are indeed installed, yes you can opt for a wash and go, but it’s better to be safe than sorry ladies. We recommend sitting under a dryer for at least 1 to 2 hours to make sure your entire head is dry (that’s including braids). Ladies, your braids are not dry, you are risking the possibility of having an ungodly mildew smell to your hair as well as unsightly molding. That can cause damage to your hair. - BEDTIME HAIR
Tie them edges downnnnn baby! We recommend you use both the satin scarf and pillow (definitely for those who wake up with their scarf on the floor like my friends). These satin items help your hair retain moisture and keep your hair soft, silky and laid. This is the best way to protect your hair when going to bed.
Curly hair has an extra step for nigh-time routines. You can also do this for wavy hair to keep waves defined. Sectioning the hair and braiding/twisting it is essential to maintaining the curl pattern and defining waves. Once you braid it, tie your hair with satin scarf and you’re ready for bed. - MINIMUM HEAT
The purpose of wearing extensions is mostly to give your natural hair a break, so do just that. If you wear your extensions straight, wrap it with a few bobby pins at night to avoid using heat daily. Now if you’re like me and opt for voluminous curls, then pin curls and flexi rods are your best friends. Only use heat if you must, and that goes for your leave out as well. You do not want a crispy, fried, and dried out leave out. (Trust the fact that we have seen it all and wheeeewww don’t nobody got time for that baby). - MINIMUM HAIR CARE PRODUCTS
Ladiesssss, do not drench your hair in products. Dealing with extensions and product, we do not believe the more the merrier. Less is more in this case. Using numerous products will leave your strands stringy and greasy, which can cause build up.
